Ikumatsu, facing Kiyamachi street, along the Takase-gawa (Takase River), a famous stream known to be the setting of a well-known novel 'Takase-bune’, written by renowned Japanese auther Ogai Mori. Most guestrooms in the main building face the Kamo-river, with views of Kyoto’s notable mountains, Daimonji, Hieizan, and Higashiyama. The ryokan stands quietly at the centre of Kyoto city; very convenient to get around in subways or buses, to visit famous shrines or temples, and vibrant downtown Kawara-machi. In the last days of Edo period, many clansmen would often swagger about along the bank of Kamo-river. It is a touching experience for travelers to take an evening walk on a riverside, literally in the footsteps of Japanese history. Hotelmap sells the rooms of Fushiminoma in Honkan.
